A great boat trip out from
Otterham Quay, Rainham following the circular route indicated. Still early in the season but a good opportunity to see some of our estuary birds readying themselves for the breeding season ahead.
Mediterranean Gulls were fairly much in evidence and there were probably around c30+ among the more abundant
Black-headed Gulls.
We'd hoped to come across our first
Sandwich Tern for the year and was a little surprised to come across around 50+. Other sightings included 6
Red-breasted Mergansers, c300+
Brent Geese, 3
Marsh Harriers, 2
Tufted Duck and as we headed back, we managed our first
Swallow of the year.
