Lapland Bunting at Bishopstone, Kent

A wonderful opportunity to watch and study a Lapland Bunting at very close quarters was realised at Bishopstone this afternoon. The bird could have hardly been more obliging as it fed along the seawall pretty much ignoring the many walkers, dogs and cyclists passing by!

Bishopstone/Oare: Brenda and I started at Bishopstone this morning and in dry and bright conditions saw a male Stonechat, Gannet (7), Chiffchaff (2), Little Egret (6+) and Swallow (2). Lunchtime, we moved to Oare: Kingfisher (1), Stonechat (3+), Little Egret (8+), Marsh Harrier (2), Avocet (2), Wheatear (1), Green Sandpiper (1) and Brent Goose (c300+).
