Oare Marshes

Eventually Brenda and I managed to find an opportunity to visit Oare Marshes to see the Spotted Crake that has been showing incredibly well over the last week. Our timing was near on perfect, as the bird was showing immediately on arrival. The high tide wader roost was impressive as often it is at this site; good numbers of Golden Plover, Black-tailed Godwits, Dunlin, Redshanks, Greenshank (3), Spotted Redshank (2), Little Stint (3), Ruff, Lapwing, Curlew Sandpiper (6) and Bar-tailed Godwit. We also saw Little Egret (4), Yellow Wagtail (1), Chiffchaff (1), Swallow (30) and House Martin (250).
