Diversion to Wanstead!
Having already visited Norfolk on return from Spurn last week, another diversion was now called for to pop in to Wanstead to see the Rustic Bunting that has been present for a few days. Despite the many great photos I'd seen on social media of this bird, it's fair to say that it didn't give itself up easily to us this afternoon! Eventually we did however get great scope views but a little distant for our camera and lens.

Welney Wildfowl & Wetlands
Following an excellent weeks birding and migration spectacle in Yorkshire; predominantly Spurn, we started the journey south ourselves opting to spend the weekend in Norfolk on route.
We found ourselves at Welney; always a favourite by 2pm and spent a lovely few hours, until closing time (5pm today), enjoying the sites birds. Not all were photographed, but to mention just the raptors: Marsh Harrier (2), Common Buzzard (4/5), Peregrine (1), Sparrowhawk (1), Kestrel (1) and Merlin (1) and one can see why this site can be such a delight!
